The Cedar Reds pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Manti 72-67. Cedar lost against Manti in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-60 score last time.
Manti's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Thomas, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Reggie Frischknecht, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Manti, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Cedar and Spanish Fork will face off at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allowing an average of 59.8 points per game, Spanish Fork has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. Manti and Sports Leadership & Management will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sports Leadership & Management knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Manti likes a good challenge.
