Having just played yesterday, the Curtis Baptist Crusaders will get right back to it and host the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Curtis Baptist will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Curtis Baptist can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 40-9 win over South Aiken Baptist Christian at home. The squad ran away with 29 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Abby Coughlin and Maci Butler were among the main playmakers for Curtis Baptist as the former scored 11 points along with six steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Butler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hunt, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Charleston Collegiate were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 53-23 loss at the hands of Cross. While losing is never fun, Charleston Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Stingrays are ranked 98th).
Curtis Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Charleston Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
