The Girard Yellowjackets will take on the Greenville Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Girard will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Corry on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 14-6 victory. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Carson Stevens and Joe Ferretti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stevens pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ferretti struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Stevens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Stevens got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one double, while Ferretti went 3-for-5 with two runs. Those three hits gave Ferretti a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Greenville got the win against Reynolds on Monday by a conclusive 17-1. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.
Jacob Csonka was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Csonka was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Girard has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greenville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
