The Billings Wildcats's game on Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down Everton 57-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Billings also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Despite the loss, Everton saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Sartin dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Sartin scored a full 54.8% of Everton's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Sartin, who scored 6 points.
The win got Billings back to even at 1-1. As for Everton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Billings won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pleasant Hope. Pleasant Hope's defense has only allowed 25.5 points per game this season, so Billings' offense will have their work cut out for Billings. As for Everton, they will be playing at home against Dadeville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Dadeville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
