Heights is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Kapaun Mt. Carmel is on a 15-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Heights Falcons will take on the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Heights gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by West on the road to the tune of 68-23. Given Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while West is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heights' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from T.J. Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Williams hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amalachi Wilkins, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Northwest scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Kapaun Mt. Carmel still came out on top. Kapaun Mt. Carmel walked away with a 75-63 win over Northwest.
Heights' win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-0.
Heights couldn't quite finish off Kapaun Mt. Carmel in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 50-48. Can Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
