Hanover Central is a perfect 10-0 against River Forest since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:00 a.m. Hanover Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Thursday, Hanover Central made easy work of Lowell and carried off a 3-0 victory.
One reason for the win was Hanover Central's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liliana Chorba, who had 14 digs and three assists.
Meanwhile, River Forest got the win against 21st Century Charter on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant River Forest was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-15, 25-6.
River Forest's win bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Hanover Central, their victory bumped their record up to 23-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Hanover Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.1 aces per game. However, it's not like River Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
