The biggest upset of the week belonged to Manor, who took down 197th ranked Elgin, 17-13. KELTON EVANS ran for 66 yards and caught five passes for 56 yards in the win.
The Mustangs moved up to 284 from 381 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 17. Manor was able to make the jump by besting the Wildcats 17-13.
Luke Griego and Antwuan Davis gave Bastrop a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Griego threw for 79 yards and two touchdowns, while Davis ran for 132 yards.
Darryl Harrison was the best wideout in the league this week as Hutto fell to Pflugerville Connally. Harrison tallied four receptions for 118 yards.
Te'Rel Simmons provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Elgin lost to the Mustangs. He completed eight passes for 157 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 123 yards. Simmons' favorite target this week was Da'trean Simmons, who caught four passes for 86 yards.
Georgetown's Jake Hubenak and Ryan Bedford have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hubenak has thrown for 1200 yards this season, while Bedford, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 24 catches for 479 yards. Simmons from Wade Griffin's team leads the league in rushing with 591 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region III District 17 this week will be when the Wildcats take on the Cougars. At the moment, Elgin is in eighth, while Pflugerville Connally is in third.
The Eagles extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating East View, 48-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
