The River Ridge Royal Knights had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Gulf 57-22 on the road. River Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Analis Hernandez, who scored nine points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Lee, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
River Ridge used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Gulf. And. Lexi Wade made the most of the opportunity, scoring 15 points along with four blocks. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
River Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Gulf, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.
River Ridge will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Wesley Chapel will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something River Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. Gulf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
