Basketball Recap: Mt. Enterprise Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

If New Summerfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mt. Enterprise, they should've done a better job of containing Tanner Wilburn. The Mt. Enterprise Wildcats came out on top against the New Summerfield Hornets by a score of 57-49 on Friday thanks in part to Wilburn, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

Kaegan Ash was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Mt. Enterprise's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14. As for New Summerfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Enterprise will head out to challenge Cushing at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Summerfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Douglass at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Douglass has six straight victories, New Summerfield has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
