Washburn gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Como Park Cougars a 10-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Millers, who have now won five contests in a row dating back to last season.
Nolan Nelson looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).
