Baseball Recap: Dade Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Dade Christian had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the McArthur Mustangs. Considering the Warriors have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlos Chirinos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Chirinos was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other pitching news, Jadel Marrero looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Yael Amador and Ylurey Melfor did most of the damage at the plate: Amador went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Melfor scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Dade Christian is undefeated when Amador posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Kelvin Perez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Dade Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Dade Christian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for McArthur, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Coming up, Dade Christian will challenge Berkeley Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McArthur, they will square off against South Broward at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Broward will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
