The Red Mountain Mountain Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 76-18 win over Skyline at home. Red Mountain has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Red Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macy Johnson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Payton Westra was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Skyline struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Red Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.33 points. As for Skyline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Mountain will take on Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyline won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against San Luis at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
