The North Rowan Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elkin Buckin' Elks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in North Rowan's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Elkin has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, North Rowan was beaten by Salisbury 55-14.
North Rowan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremiah Alford, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns, and Jaemias Morrow who rushed for 138 yards.
Meanwhile, Elkin fell victim to Starmount's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Rams. While losing is never fun, Elkin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Starmount is ranked 148th).
The losses dropped North Rowan to 8-2 and Elkin to 3-7.
