Liberty Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Willy Mueller, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards, and Phoenix Obermann, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and five boards. With that strong performance, Mueller is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Meyer, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and three blocks.
Meanwhile, St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Poplar Bluff an easy 72-49 win. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Mules are ranked 158th).
Liberty Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Nathan Reed, one of several St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K players who made an impact when they last played. He put up 16 points and six assists. Reed is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Michael Leine was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Liberty Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Liberty Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.3 boards per game. However, it's not like St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
