The Triangle Math & Science Tigers posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Research Triangle 48-45. For Triangle Math & Science, this counts as revenge for the 52-34 defeat Research Triangle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Triangle Math & Science's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ridwan Abukar led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abukar has scored all season. Ahmed Omer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Triangle Math & Science's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Research Triangle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Triangle Math & Science will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Woods Charter at 7:30 p.m. As for Research Triangle, they will head out on the road to face off against NCSSM: Durham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
