2A-1 Region II District 6 recap September 10, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Ryan Cottingame and Lawson Ayo connected against Life Oak Cliff. The connection was good for 70 yards, the longest such play in 2A-1 Region II District 6 this season.
Farmersville moved up to 578 from 718 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Farmers were able to make move up by topping Krum 35-27.
Sunnyvale's dynamic duo of Cottingame and Ayo proved to be unstoppable against the Lions, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cottingame threw for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns and Ayo had 86 yards receiving. Josh Quinn helped Sunnyvale's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 73 yards.

Ayo was the best wideout in 2A-1 Region II District 6 this week as Sunnyvale beat the Lions.

6-foot-4 quarterback Cottingame of Sunnyvale is the league leader in passing yards this season with 603. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kory Waller. The Pottsboro star has 10 catches for 177 yards.
Commerce lost to Cooper 41-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Brewer was a bright spot for the Tigers, as he in the loss.
