Even though the Lincoln Northeast Rockets scored an imposing 78 points on Saturday, the Gretna Dragons still came out on top. Gretna strolled past Lincoln Northeast with points to spare, taking the game 93-78. That's another feather in the cap for Gretna, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Gretna got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Pokorski out in front who scored 23 points along with 9 assists and 7 rebounds. The contest was Pokorski's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Wilkins, who scored 23 points.
Despite the loss, Lincoln Northeast still got an impressive performance from Mowafag Abdalla, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Easton Switzer, who scored 12 points.
Gretna's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lincoln Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Gretna will be home for the holidays to greet Burke at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
