2A Conference 15 recap October 29, 2013
Kinston led 2A Conference 15 in scoring this week by notching 31 points on Greene Central.
Noah Stroud was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 110 yards as South Lenoir lost to Ayden-Grifton. Dion Jones also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Goldsboro's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nashir Bowden has thrown for 1,101 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Joseph Baker has 29 catches for 395 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Cougars and North Lenoir face off next week.
The Chargers are currently in third, while the Vikings are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Hawks and Goldsboro face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, North Lenoir comes in having scored 116 this season, while Eric Reid's team has scored 187. Calvin Sutton's team scored 16 points last week as it beat the Blue Devils.
Ayden-Grifton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,647 from 9,110. The advance stemmed from a 21-7 victory over the Cougars last week.
