Lawson barely beat Richmond the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-1 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lawson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Richmond, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Lawson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 win against Penney on the 29th. Richmond has also already played their next match (against Lafayette County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
