Carson City-Crystal was handed a 27-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Comets on Saturday. Carson City-Crystal had just enough and edged the Comets out 44-42. The victory was just what Carson City-Crystal needed coming off of a 60-33 loss in their prior contest.
Cole Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Grayson Ackels, who scored seven points.
St. Charles' loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Carson City-Crystal, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
St. Charles couldn't quite finish off the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 36-33. Can St. Charles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
