The Santaluces Chiefs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Boynton Beach. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santaluces also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading Santaluces to victory were Trent Nixon and Decarious Jenkins. Nixon scored nine points, while Jenkins scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Tremaine Hollis was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Boynton Beach lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mitshev Duquency, who scored 11 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Osborn, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Santaluces' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Boynton Beach, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Santaluces will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Boynton Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Inlet Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Inlet Grove is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.5 points per game.
