The West Marion Trojans can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past Perry Central 62-59. West Marion's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Perry Central's loss came despite strong showings from Kaden Bolton and Aydin Lawrence. Bolton dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Lawrence scored 17 points along with three steals. Bolton hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Austin Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
West Marion's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18. As for Perry Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
West Marion will head out on the road to take on Tylertown at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tylertown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Marion in Mississippi (Tylertown is ranked 70th, while West Marion is ranked 270th). Perry Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
