There's no place like home for the Milton-Union Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past Riverside with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 35-21. Given Milton-Union's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Riverside is ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jenna Brumbaugh continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Copp, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Riverside still got an impressive performance from Avery Perk, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Riverside struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Milton-Union has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Milton-Union will face off against Anna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to challenge Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northeastern comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
