Charlotte Catholic's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jack Siegel, who posted 11 points and six boards, and Chris Eagan, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Eagan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 52% in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was John Reiley Gregory, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 11 points and five boards.
Charlotte Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Butler earned a 77-68 win over Rocky River on Tuesday.
Butler's win came from a few key players Charlotte Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Reece Starnes, who went 7-for-10 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah White, who put up 11 points and five boards.
Charlotte Catholic's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.3 points. As for Butler, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's contest: Charlotte Catholic has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 37.4% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Butler, though, as they've only made 29.7% of their threes this season. Given Charlotte Catholic's sizable advantage in that area, Butler will need to find a way to close that gap.
