Corona del Sol's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlee Peters, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Corona del Sol struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Desert Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Swindle, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Swindle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shay Ijiwoye, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Corona del Sol has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Desert Vista, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Highland the next time they take the court. Corona del Sol will head out to face Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Desert Vista will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
