Softball Recap: Hayden Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hayden walked away with it. They came out on top against the San Manuel Miners by a score of 13-8 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Lobos: when they faced off against the Miners back in April, they had to take a 21-11 loss.

Hayden let Ariana Arbizo and Yvana Waddell run wild. Arbizo went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Waddell got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those three RBI gave Arbizo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maria Sanchez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Hayden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .558 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Hayden's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for San Manuel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11.

Hayden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 24-2 loss against Joseph City on the 9th. San Manuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
