Buena Vista hasn't had much luck against Burke recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Buena Vista Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Burke Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Buena Vista took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Elkhorn South by a score of 77-70.

LC Doss continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhyaire Partee, who went 7 for 8 en route to 16 points.
Meanwhile, Burke lost to Bellevue East on the road by a 75-61 margin on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.
Buena Vista will need focus on slowing down Marcus Buchanan, one of several Burke players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Buchanan a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nate Vereen-Burton, who had 11 points.
Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Burke, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Buena Vista has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 27.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Burke struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Buena Vista was dealt a bruising 68-35 defeat at the hands of Burke in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Buena Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
