Gladewater and White Oak are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Gladewater Bears will head out on the road to challenge the White Oak Roughnecks at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gladewater will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Gladewater's strategy against New Diana on Tuesday. Gladewater walked away with a 44-31 win over New Diana.
Meanwhile, White Oak's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They strolled past Hughes Springs with points to spare, taking the game 36-18.
White Oak can attribute much of their success to Kalyn Hepler, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Elyse Paiz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Paiz's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
Gladewater pushed their record up to 14-12 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for White Oak, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-17.
Everything came up roses for Gladewater against White Oak in their previous matchup on January 9th as the squad secured a 66-39 win. With Gladewater ahead 36-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
