Oak Harbor is 9-1 against Genoa Area since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Comets at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oak Harbor has three straight victories, Genoa Area has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Oak Harbor's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Port Clinton. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

On the hitting side, Tatum Baumgartner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Haylee Robinson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oak Harbor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Genoa Area couldn't beat Van Buren on Saturday even though they stacked 11 runs on them in the first inning. The Comets fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 13-12. While the Comets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Black Knights 11-0 in the first period.
Emersen Bickel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Kylie Pennington also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Oak Harbor pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Genoa Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Genoa Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oak Harbor has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Genoa Area, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Oak Harbor's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oak Harbor took their win against Genoa Area in their previous matchup on April 11th by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
