Columbia Academy is a perfect 8-0 against Battle Ground Academy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Columbia Academy got the win against Providence Christian Academy by a conclusive 11-1.

Anna Brewer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Lila Pulley was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinslee Wilhelm, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Columbia Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Battle Ground Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lawson on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lightning with a sharp 17-2 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lightning recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Eily Wolfe made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Wolfe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Ellery Baisden was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Gracie Hollis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Columbia Academy's record now sits at 7-2. As for Battle Ground Academy, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Battle Ground Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Columbia Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Battle Ground Academy, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 strikeouts. Will Columbia Academy keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Columbia Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Battle Ground Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
