The McDonough Warhawks stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 84-54 victory over Luella. McDonough's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Nigel Thomas, who scored 23 points along with three blocks and two steals. Zion Greene was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
McDonough has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Luella, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
McDonough will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Zion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Warhawks are ranked tenth). As for Luella, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Pace Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matchups.
