The Paramus Catholic Paladins lost against the Ramapo Raiders back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Year welcomed Paramus Catholic with a 69-40 whooping from Ramapo. Paramus Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.
Ramapo was led to victory by Charlie Wingfield and Chris Cervino. Wingfield scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Cervino went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. That's the first time this season that Wingfield scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Eglinton manner, who scored nine points.
Paramus Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Ramapo, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Paramus Catholic will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against DePaul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Ramapo is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Paramus at 4:30 p.m. on January 9th. Paramus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Ramapo is ranked 47th).
