Fortune Early College's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nahje Collins, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jerel Briggs, who scored 12 points.
Fortune Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for San Leandro, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fortune Early College won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against John Adams Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. John Adams Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1304th, while Fortune Early College is ranked 483rd). As for San Leandro, they will head out on the road to challenge Castro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Castro Valley is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
