The Central Spartans were the 64-33 winner over the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Central might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-42 to Desert Christian Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Central's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Martin, who scored 14 points. Martin scored a full 33.3% of Central's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Lopez, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Augustine Youssef, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds for Desert Christian Academy. Joshua Brown was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Desert Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
