After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmyra-Macedon, the Wayne Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Irondequoit by a score of 52-39. This was payback for Wayne, who suffered a 54-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laney Flynn, who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flynn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Tytler, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Irondequoit, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne will be staying on the road on January 5, 2024 to face off against Midlakes at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Midlakes is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Irondequoit, they will head out on the road to face off against Pittsford at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
