The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They slipped by Davis Sr. 59-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jay Washington was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Devin Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Despite the loss, Davis Sr. still got an impressive performance from Aidan Crawford, who scored 21 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Barker, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Davis Sr. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 16 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Cosumnes Oaks' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9. As for Davis Sr., they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Cosumnes Oaks will be playing at home against Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jesuit's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 contests. As for Davis Sr., they will head out on the road to take on Elk Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elk Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
