If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Xavier. On Friday they take on Center Point-Urbana at 7:00 PM. Center Point-Urbana will need to watch out since Xavier have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Xavier might be getting used to good results now that the squad have seven wins in a row. They steamrollered Western Dubuque 35-0. Fans of Xavier have seen this all before: every one of Xavier's games this year has ended as a stomp.
Meanwhile, we expected Center Point-Urbana to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Western Dubuque two weeks ago, and they did. Center Point-Urbana ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-35 walloping at Western Dubuque's hands. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Center Point-Urbana.
Xavier's win lifted them to 7-0 while Center Point-Urbana's loss dropped them down to 3-3. We'll find out if Xavier can add another positive mark to their record or if Center Point-Urbana can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Xavier's step.
