After two games on the road, Northern Nash is heading back home. They will take on the D.H. Conley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Nash will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 398th, while D.H. Conley is ranked 124th).
Northern Nash suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Rocky Mount, falling 76-29. Northern Nash was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-14.
Meanwhile, D.H. Conley was able to grind out a solid win over Havelock on Wednesday, taking the game 50-42. The win was just what D.H. Conley needed coming off of a 60-31 defeat in their prior contest.
D.H. Conley had a senior duo take command as Aubrey Mayberry dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds and Ella Pierre-Louis scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mayberry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Moira Skalak, who scored seven points.
Northern Nash has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for D.H. Conley, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Northern Nash was dealt a bruising 61-21 defeat at the hands of D.H. Conley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northern Nash was down 46-10.
