Wahama has gone a perfect 3-0 against Doddridge County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The White Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Wahama will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Wahama's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Poca with a sharp 9-0 victory. The White Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.
Wahama got a massive performance out of Payton Staats, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Staats has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Fiona VanMatre, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Wahama hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Doddridge County posted their closest win since April 9th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over James Monroe. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Kamryn Satterfield made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Pratt, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Hadley Ross was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Wahama has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Doddridge County, their record now sits at 18-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wahama hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Doddridge County struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wahama took their victory against Doddridge County in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the White Falcons repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
