The Seminary Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Kemper County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seminary walked away with it. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 27-0 win over West Marion. The result was nothing new for Seminary, who have now won four matches by 27 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Kemper County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They strolled past Franklin County with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Kendetryon Backstrom, who rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Toddrick Rush, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Seminary is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Kemper County, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record.
Seminary might still be hurting after the 48-23 loss they got from Kemper County when the teams last played back in November of 2016. Can Seminary avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
