The Elizabeth Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torres. Elizabeth was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Toros apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Leading Torres to victory were Allen Hernandez and Oscar Gonzalez. Hernandez scored 13 points, while Gonzalez scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. Anthony Fierro was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Elizabeth dropped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Torres, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.
Elizabeth will be playing at home against the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Torres, they will head out on the road to challenge the Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marquez's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
