After a string of 11 wins, the Chinle Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Page. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (61), Chinle still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Chinle still got an impressive performance from Jostaiah Harvey, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Harvey has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Tristan Xicohtencatl was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Leading Page to victory were Maximus Reid and Tyree Stingley. Reid scored 17 points along with four steals, while Stingley scored 27 points along with six rebounds. Stingley hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Bryce Williams, who scored six points along with six assists and two steals.
Chinle's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Page, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Chinle won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kingman at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Kingman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Chinle is ranked 114th).
