Holly Hill Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cross a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Taylor Wright made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wright was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Kaylee Brabham was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Milly Kate Prescott, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Holly Hill Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 13 consecutive games.
Augusta Christian hit Jefferson Davis Academy with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders lost 13-3 to the Lions. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jefferson Davis Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rynn Fickling, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Holly Hill Academy pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Holly Hill Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jefferson Davis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
