The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters will head out on the road to square off against the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hatboro-Horsham 3.4, Plymouth Whitemarsh 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Hatboro-Horsham had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Quakertown on Thursday. The Hatters' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers an 8-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Hatters as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kennedy Conn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Karpovich, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Marisa Bennett also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Hatboro-Horsham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Plymouth Whitemarsh made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wissahickon on Thursday. The Colonials put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Colonials in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.
Emily Dobrowolski was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Kalina Childers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Hatboro-Horsham pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, their record is now 11-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hatboro-Horsham has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Plymouth Whitemarsh struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hatboro-Horsham suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Plymouth Whitemarsh when the teams last played back in April. Can the Hatters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
