The Dyett Eagles lost against the Jones Eagles back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The game between Dyett and the Eagles wasn't particularly close, with the Eagles falling 59-43. Dyett has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dyett's loss came despite strong showings from Kamari Watson and Keyana Sanderson. Watson scored 18 points, while Sanderson scored 17 points. Watson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played.
Dyett's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Jones, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dyett will face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jones' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Champions at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. Lane Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
