Bucklin is 1-9 against the Lancers since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bucklin Red Aces will head out on the road to challenge the Spearville Lancers at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bucklin comes in on three and the Lancers on ten.
Last Friday, it was close, but Bucklin sidestepped the Longhorns for a 49-46 victory.
Karlee Evans and Emmerson Kirk were among the main playmakers for Bucklin as the former scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals and the latter scored 17 points. Kirk continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Spearville on the road against the Mavericks on Tuesday as the squad secured a 50-21 win. Given Spearville's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Mavericks are ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bucklin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Spearville, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Bucklin came up short against the Lancers in their previous meeting last Thursday, falling 41-37. Can Bucklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
