After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Desert Mountain, the Coronado Dons were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Glendale 27-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Coronado also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Coronado was led to victory by Kailyn Holsey and Ariel Douglas. Holsey dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Douglas scored 6 points along with 11 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Holsey has scored at least 25% of Coronado's points.
The win got Coronado back to even at 2-2. As for Glendale, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coronado won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Camelback at 5:30 p.m. on November 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Camelback is ranked 96th, while Coronado is ranked 88th). As for Glendale, they will be playing at home against Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
