Basketball Game Preview: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Oliver Springs Bobcats

Jellico is 0-5 against Oliver Springs since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Jellico Blue Devils will host the Oliver Springs Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jellico is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Monday. They had to suffer through a 64-23 loss at the hands of Clay County. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Blue Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

The losing side was boosted by Savannah Lay, who posted six points and six rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Oliver Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Sunbright an easy 50-28 win. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Tigers are ranked 151st).

Oliver Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Jellico, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
