After flying high against the Hamilton Big Blue last Wednesday, the Middletown Middies came back down to earth. Middletown took a hard 57-38 fall against the Vikings on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Vikings are ranked 12th).
Middletown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taylor Daniels, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jamia Jones, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Middletown has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Princeton, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colerain is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Princeton, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Highlanders at 7:30 p.m.
