Weaver stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Hartford Public 74-49. Given Weaver's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Hartford Public is ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Weaver's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fazal Khan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Khan continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Mahari Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bulkeley 40-37.
Weaver pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.5 points per game. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
